Dear Friends –
2010 has been an exciting year. But I am no friend of excessive words and the situation of independent game studios does not need to be elaborated on any further.
Although we have been proponents of internet-based, remote studio collaboration for many years, we are surprised time and again by how fluidly complex processes can work even with huge differences in time zones, cultures and languages. It is not only exciting to accidentally meet fellow German developers in Canada but also to learn in what various ways our assets are being put to use – oftentimes reaching into interactive experiences far beyond games.
Despite us always prioritizing your jobs above our own projects, two of our own productions finally have reached pre-master status. Only bureaucracy keeps us from releasing those games this year and thus we are looking forward to a release in early 2011. We’ll let you know when we are done – which will definitely be before Duke Nukem Forever!
But we have also been very busy on the purely artistic end of the spectrum. And by we I mean: Our dear colleague Andrea. She is now fully concentrating on illustration and expands her portfolio into that realm. Just a few days ago her epic artwork “Servant of Arioch” was chosen as “Image of the Day” by ImagineFX Magazine.
We congratulate Andrea and are glad to be working with her.
It is no secret: We at dead-on entertainment love eating good food. The emotional power of shared meals is not to be underestimated. And for us it provides a lot of inspiration. Our restaurant trips have become a dead-on tradition and of course we are looking forward to a seren christmas party at a great restaurant.
Yes, let’s face it: Christmas is upon us. And with it come lots of rituals many of us don’t like. But no matter if it’s turkey, goose or sausages you have for christmas. We wish you all the best, lots of great meals and an overall great time!
Thank you for another year. See you soon!

Another game with dead-on graphics saw the light of day recently: “
