Dear friends -
winter is over. That is good. And spring is upon us, which is even better – so far we like the weather. And we already completed a couple of exciting projects this year.
The first might be a bit unusual because it is a book. I wrote “Mysterium Spieleentwickler” (German for “Mystery Game Developer”) as a guidebook for those who want to enter the video game industry. German literature on this topic so far has been non-existent and we want newcomers to have the best chances for a good career. The book has been released on 03/18/2011.
In the wake of the book we also launched the platform gamedevtipps.de to encourage the collection and sharing of game development related tips, articles and overall knowledge. Sharing information can only help the game developing community as a whole.
Another project that’s been a bit unusual (but which game isn’t?) has been “Pocket Bugs” for the iOS. We had the pleasure of creating all the graphics for the game, which has been released to the Apple App Store for iPhone3/4 and iPad just yesterday.
The game marks another milestone in our long relationship with “WeDestroy” – the overall nice guys from Austria, creators of the successful “iDestroy”.
We’ll keep our fingers crossed for “Pocket Bugs” and are quite sure that players will have a lot fun fun to finally get to destroy comic-styled bugs as well. The whole arsenal of weapon manufacturing history is available in the game – and even more. But with your conscience in place it might be a bit harder than last time to pull out the buzzsaw or B2-Bomber against those cute, cuddly bugs.
You might ask yourselves where our own two in-house productions have gone. Well, the high demand for our services has been another reason for us to delay their releases. But hey: We will still manage to get them out before Duke Nukem forever. We promised!
We are looking forward to the coming months and projects. Most of all, we can’t wait to hear from you and work with you again. After all, being in contact with you is even more fun than working on games. That might sound sappy, but it’s just the way it is!
Best regards from the dead-on entertainment team!
See you soon.
